DUDLEY MBC - 'SEAL' MEMBERSHIP

It is standard requirement that coaches who work for, or on behalf of First4Football are a members of SEAL.  

'SEAL' is an association which acts as a quality assurance check for sports coaches working in the Dudley Borough.  The quality performance check is performed and monitored by Dudley MBC.  It ensures that all coaches working, are minimum Football Association level one qualified, have been Police checked (Criminal Records Bureau), and hold the necessary emergency aid and child protection workshop certificate.

THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION COACHES ASSOCIATION (FACA) 

   

The Football Association Coaches Association (FACA) is the Professional Body for qualified football coaches.  Members of FACA are recognised as licensed coaches, have been Police checked (Criminal Records Bureau), and receive Civil Liability cover (see insurance

It is standard requirement that any coach working for First4Football must be a member of FACA before they are able to take on any coaching activities.  

The following Football Association Policies are adopted by First4Football:

To be a member of FACA (Licensed Coach) a coach will hold a current qualification.  The first level qualification is a certificate in coaching football - level one.  A coach who has completed this course, and the same applies to advanced qualifications, will have also completed the following:

  • Emergency Aid (renewable after 3 years)
  • The FA's child protection and best practice workshop (renewable after 3 years)

INSURANCE:

First4Football has taken out extensive public liability insurance cover with Allianz Cornhill, the limit of indemnity is £2m any one occurrence.  Cover includes Breach of Professional Duty, damage to leased and rented premises, and liability arising out of goods sold or supplied, including refreshments. 

First4Football also ensures that all coaches engaged to work are members of The FA Coaches Association.  The FA Coaches Association carries many benefits for the individual coach, £5m civil liability insurance cover, liability to any Third Parties, full instructor indemnity, libel and slander cover and cost of defence cover. Personal Accident Cover is not provided under this scheme.

To hold insurance cover, the coach must be a fully paid up member and hold a current membership card and certificate.
